I think I need a skirt intervention

My daughter's skirt collection has a mind of its own and is growing by the day.

Yummy cupcakes...

I was quite surprised recently when a lovely friend asked me if she could order some of my cupcakes for a function - how exciting! So I got busy this weekend producing pretties of the edible kind for a little sweetheart's christening...

We also had a chance to have a look see at the Children's Market {it was lovely just to visit a market for a change} - I couldn't resist this great skirt for Louise from Mad Stitches and also managed a quick catch up with the ever so lovely Jeanne from Mini Vintage.

Go Fabulously Green....

I have blogged about Carli's nappies before but felt it was time for Minilala's own post. Selfishly, at first it was her choice in fabrics that made me want her devine nappies for Louise. I mean go look at them - they are just gorgeous!

But really, having a 2 and half year old that is still in nappies {and is not remotely interested in sitting on anything that looks like a toilet} has made me feel rather guilty at the amount of disposables we have probably gone through. I purchased one of her one size fits most cloth nappies late last year and can't believe I hadn't done it sooner. Its been perfect for the hotter weather - as it is just so lovely - I'm happy to show it off {no cartoon Austalian animals in sight on these ones - not that I'm bagging Aldi at all - definitely converted there} and it just feels good knowing that at the end of the day, I have a lot less nappies to pile into the bin. These nappies go from Newborn to toddies with ease and wash up perfectly.
Next time round I will be doing cloth nappies a lot more and as Minilala now do gift certificates - this is where I will pointing my family to for sure.

Introducing Petunia...

Is she not the most delightful thing you have ever seen?? I met her on Sunday and just could not wait any longer to show you. These are her friends Zinnia and Hyacinth!

Their {just as delightful} creator Nancy had a stall at the same market as I, last weekend.  Her children's fashion label Wolf and Willow is truly an amazing sight.
Nancy personifies the handmade revolution to a tee.
You can easily see that every item is made with so much thought,  love and care.

Wolf and Willow designs are based on genuine vintage sewing patterns from the fifties, sixties and seventies and are {almost} too good to wear.  Her collection consists of vintage inspired children's clothing, soft toys, bedding and accessories.

I especially love this Prancing Pony Pinafore 

In her description of this dress she says "I make precious things that children will treasure and remember long after they are grown".... well Nancy this is certainly one of those.

Nancy will be working on a very special tee for Miss Louise so it won't be long before I can show you a few more photo's of her work
