"The Chair" Revamped..

Around Easter time we popped down to the Camberwell Market for a little look around and I managed to find this little gem for $10!
I had every intention of trying to recover it myself - however once I bought the fabric, I just didn't have the heart test out my upholstery skills on all that beautiful Amy Butler.
So I popped down to my local and the lovely Lauren created this for me... umm I mean Louise.

We are so pleased with it... what do you think!!

For the locals - I can highly recommended Lauren if your looking to cover something. Lauren's work is something special - you just have to look through the window to see the unique vintage patchwork stools, funky couches and fabric wall hangings.
It was practically ready the next day and she has a cupboard full of vintage fabrics, all folded in colour coordinated piles that make you feel like you have died and gone to fabric heaven.

I really had my heart set on this Amy Butler fabric but was quite temped to go with one she had in the shop. A special mention also to Jody from the Fabric Shoppe who's service is impeccable. If your looking for designer fabrics at a great price then this is where you go.

Happy Wednesday!

Go Fabulously Green....

I have blogged about Carli's nappies before but felt it was time for Minilala's own post. Selfishly, at first it was her choice in fabrics that made me want her devine nappies for Louise. I mean go look at them - they are just gorgeous!

But really, having a 2 and half year old that is still in nappies {and is not remotely interested in sitting on anything that looks like a toilet} has made me feel rather guilty at the amount of disposables we have probably gone through. I purchased one of her one size fits most cloth nappies late last year and can't believe I hadn't done it sooner. Its been perfect for the hotter weather - as it is just so lovely - I'm happy to show it off {no cartoon Austalian animals in sight on these ones - not that I'm bagging Aldi at all - definitely converted there} and it just feels good knowing that at the end of the day, I have a lot less nappies to pile into the bin. These nappies go from Newborn to toddies with ease and wash up perfectly.
Next time round I will be doing cloth nappies a lot more and as Minilala now do gift certificates - this is where I will pointing my family to for sure.

If you go now she has just put up some lovely limited edition prints
- that will probably be all sold out by the time I post this...

For fabric lovers

For me, when it comes to fabric nothing can compare to Amy Butler - her fabric designs are simply stunning and her latest collection LOVE is another example. Having the devine quilting store Amitie at the end of my street has not helped my addiction to these fabrics at all. When I first walked in there about 4 years ago - I fell in love with this Lotus Flower Fabric which I just had to turn into a wall hanging.

Her new range makes me want to do a few more for sure.... and look at those pillows and quilt.

Whats your favourite fabrics..?
